How do I perform a factory reset on my device?
The steps on how to reset your device back to factory settings depend on the type of navigation device you have.
Note : Resetting your device removes all your saved places and settings, including your language, voice, and warning settings.
For newer devices

Select the Main Menu button in Map View or Guidance View to show the Main Menu.

Scroll to the right of the screen and select the Settings button.

Scroll to the right of this menu and select System .

In the System menu, select Reset .
For TomTom GO Discover / GO Camper Max / GO Expert / GO Exclusive/ GO Expert Plus/ GO Superior select Reset device.

A warning screen appears to confirm the deletion of your saved places and settings. Select Reset to confirm.
Your device resets and restarts.
- Make sure that you are logged into your TomTom account on your navigation device:
Tip : If your have a Wi-Fi® device, go to the Main Menu > Settings > MyDrive. Log in with your username (email address) and password.
If the MyDrive option is not available on your device, Select the Main Menu button then select TomTom Services and log in with your username (email address) and password.
For older devices
- Tap Settings in the Main Menu.
- Tap Reset factory settings . Confirm that you wish to proceed with the reset.
- When prompted to select a language, press and hold the On/Off button until the device restarts and you hear the drum sounds. This can take 30 seconds or more.
- Select your preferred settings, then wait for a valid GPS signal.
Carminat TomTom, Carminat TomTom LIVE
- Select Change preferences in the Main Menu.
- Select Reset factory settings . Confirm that you wish to proceed with the reset.
- Select your preferred settings, then wait for a valid GPS signal.
